First Visit Expectations
At Fairway Dental, we believe that knowing what lies ahead and being well-informed about new experiences can be crucial to a patient's visit. Below we have provided an overview on what you can expect at your first visit to see us.
Let's get to know each other
Your first visit to our office is not only about us getting to know you better, but for you to get to know our team too. We highly encourage for you to ask questions, voice any concerns, and to share any detail with us that you feel may benefit your care and may allow for us to make your care as unique as you are.
In order for us to get to know you, and to be able to provide you with the safest, personalized support we can, we will review your medical history up front with you. Certain conditions and medications can influence treatment protocols- so you will be asked to provide information on both.
Following that, a full-mouth x-ray set and comprehensive exam of the teeth, gums, mouth and jaws will be performed, as well as a non-invasive oral cancer screening.
Besides this information gathering and initial exam, most patients will also have their teeth cleaned during this initial visit. If any instance of gum disease or other oral detriment is detected, we may reschedule for a later date to ensure your gums and teeth are getting the best care and attention they deserve.
You're in great hands

Finally, we want you to know we will go above and beyond to make you feel relaxed and safe. Not only is your physical comfort important to us, but your emotional comfort as well. So, come in, recline, and unwind...with your Myrtle Beach dentist Dr. Latham, you’re in great hands.
